guided frame ~ google

This one almost didn’t happen. When Google brought me and David Ebert back to put together a second Pixel launch event, we had an early call to go over this year’s feature lineup. Buried on one of the slides under new accessibility features was something called “Guided Frame.” When I asked what this was, an engineer simply said “it helps blind people take selfies.” I immediately pitched Molly Burke using Guided Frame as a must-have feature highlight, wrote up an outline then pulled in one of my favorite directors (Roman Rütten) to shoot the following weekend. This was easily the stand out film from the event among execs and press — unheard of for an accessibility feature.
